Jack Nicklaus' Ryder Cup concession to Tony Jacklin is the inspiration for The Concession golf course, designed by Nicklaus and Jacklin.

Tony Jacklin's foresight and inspired leadership qualities set in motion a chain of events and a series of spectacular European victories that effectively led to the Ryder Cup becoming the commercial event it is today.

Tony Jacklin drops his putter to the ground and waves his arms after sinking his birdie putt on the eighteenth green to win the U.S. Open Championship, Chaska, Minn., June 21, 1970, in a seven-under-par 281 for 72 holes. Jacklin becomes the first Englishman in fifty years to win the U.S. Open.
